    My card works fine, i had to update it so it works on 1.4.3 on my dsi but i did it fine using the file off the acekard.com site using a ds lite. it is running akaio 1.8.7 fine.

    Also check this picture, it has checked out as real on the acekard anti clone, so it is not a fake.

    the card works fine, i updated it with the official ak2ifw_update_3ds21_DSi143_onDSi_NO44 file from the site, and it has updated ok. it is running akaio 1.8.7 fine.

    The serial number check fails though, i am not bothered really as it works ok and runs the official akaio firmware which it would not do if it were fake.

    Safe and reliable seller. Good service and quick delivery. Unfortunately the actual product was of a reasonably poor build (the two plastic cover layers of the cartridge are only weakly affixed to one another) but I suspect this is inherent in the product and is not a retailer issue. I'd happily recommend xpertron to UK buyers.

    Great product - Ni need to update firmware, just had to add drivers. Plays everything I have thrown at it. Used Xilisoft to convert my movies to DPG4, great quality using 512 bitrate. Acekard website has old Moonshell 1.71 - got Moonshell 2.10 - got it from www.ds-xtra.com/MoonShell2. Great product really works well, now has fast forward and rewind.

    You advertise this card as being compatible to 3DS version 3.0.0-6E .....it isn't ! I have followed the instructions and it gives the "an error has occurred......." the card works in an earlier version 3DS but not 3.0.0-6E.

    Hi, i have 3ds with 3.0.0-6E. i purchased acekard 2i from you. I cannot upgrade the firmware! when i open the acekard i get the error message. is there a way to up grade the firmware?

      The error message means that the latest firmware version on your 3DS has blocked your Acekard 2i. Once the Acekard 2i has been upgraded to 3DS 3.0.0-5, the problem will be resolved immediately.

      Please do the upgrade according to the upgrade guide here. 

       

      Please take note that the upgrade needs to be done on one of the following consoles:

      1. 3DS with firmware version lower than 2.2.0-4E

      2. DSi / DSi XL with firmware version1.4.3E or below

      3. DS Lite

       this error message: 'An error has occurred. Press and hold the POWER Button to turn the system off. Please refer to the Nintendo DSi Operations Manual for details. That means the flashcart is not compatible with the firmware of the DSi.

    I have purchased the acekard 2i [DSi(XL)&3DS Compatible], and loaded the 1.8.8 code. It works on my 3DS, but not on the DSi, running Ver 1.3U. When i turn on the DSi it say no cartride is loaded. But if i put same card into 3DS it works fine. The original acekard 2i (DSi Compatible) still works, fine in DSi

      Firstly, please find another DSi console to have a check if the problem is on the DSi v1.3U.

      If the Acekard 2i doesn't work on any other console, would you please take a trouble to do a screen print for further verification?

      The print screen needs to show what files onto the root of your micro SD card. Guide on how to do the print screen is available here.

    Hi, I have downloaded the required software for my Acekard and placed it in the root directory of the SD card. The 3DS recognises the card however when I select the Acekard icon by clicking A it states "System File Missing". Can anyone help?

    Billington: Re DSiXL Not Loading Games 16/08/2011
    Hi Team, I've done the procedure below. The AKAIO release is 1.8.7 (all in one) So on the SD card I now have a folder _aio and file akmenu4.nds. The problem is that some apps will load the initial screen i.e. the Nintendo logo screen appears then it freezes or I get plain white screens, and some other cases apps will load and play. I've tried another DSiXL and it is the same in this too. Any thoughts? Dear Billington, What problem do you have with the Acekard? What error message have you get?       Dear Billington,

      If the apps sometimes can load successfully and sometimes can't, the problem has to do with the data fragmentation of the memory card. Data fragmentation causes problems for data reading and writing to and from the memory card. Problems include slow data reading and failure of data loading. The solution of data fragmentation is to carry out a full format for the memory card. The setup guide for the full format is available here.

    Billington: AceKard 2i Not Working 15/08/2011
    Hi all, I purchased an AceKard from you in June, done the necessary set up, plugged it into the DSiXL and everything worked first time. Recently some of the games, in particular Super Mario type games fail to load while some other games are ok. The DSiXL f/w is 1.4.1E I've played about loading f/w and rightly or wrongly put 1.4.3 on the Kart. I've used a DSI lite and returned it to 1.4.1 but the icon is the AK2 one but the text is Stormbreaker THQ. So unsure what has happened. I used an SD card that was originally used in an R4 in a DSI Lite and just copied the game data across after doing the initial set up, I didn't format it at all and it worked fine. I've since formatted to FAT32. Also when doing the set up the instructions call for eject and insert the card, I don't get this prompt and my set up goes straight into the 0 to 100% complete. What should I do to get the thing working again? Sorry it's long winded but would appreciate your help, Cheers

      Our Acekard 2i comes with the latest firmware pre-flashed. It works like a treat with DSi 1.4.2 & 3DS 2.1.0-3 firmware OUT OF BOX. What needs to be done is to copy and paste the drivers to the microSD memory card.

    Hi my son has always used Acekards or R4's, when he very excidedly picked up his 3DS on launch day he was well aware nothing would be compatible yet but I was wondering if this card just plays normal DS apps or do 3DS ones work? I dont want to buy this if its not going to do what he wants it to do as from other feeds it appears I can just update his last Acekard 2i to run on his console. which I'd rather do then buy the latest card when it becomes available.     I bought an acekard 2i from you and have tried 4 different drivers now with the same results, only 20% of files work. I know the problem is not with the files as I have a DSi XL also running an acekard 2i from yourselves and all the files work on that one. What could the problem be and what can I do to resolve it?

      Thank you for your purchase and your message. In order to solve the problem as soon as possible, could you tell us how you setup the card? Which driver version did you use? What error message did you get?     
       
      If your DS is showing Loading or not recognising the cartridge, it is due to kernel/driver problem. Once the correct kernel/driver is copied onto the microSD, the issue will be resolved immediately.

    King: Quality issues 08/12/2010
    I just got my Acekard2i in the post and I have a few issues with the build quality. There is a blob of glue on the casing which means the cart will not go in the ds. The glue is along one of the sides. The other is involving the sticker on the front. Its facing towards the left, somebody has obviously placed it on wrong and because im a fussy git its winding me up lol... so if I remove and re-apply the sticker will I void the warranty? if yes then I will just leave it be. The glue problem is the real issue that needs sorting!

      Some of our customers are unsure how to check which version of firmware their DSi consoles have. It is actually quite straightforward and can be done in 1 step:

      1.         Click SETTING (with the Tool Icon) on the main menu

      2.         Check the right hand corner of the top screen which says VER 1.x

      VER 1.x is the version number. If it shows VER 1.4, it means that your DSi console has been updated with the latest firmware and the current flashcards can't be used on your DSi consoles.The firmware update on DSi console can't be reversed. 

      Acekard 2i is fully compatible with DSi XL with the latest firmware, i.e. 1.4.1.

DS Compatibility

The following consoles are supported: DS, DS Lite, DSi, DSi XL & 3DS.

For DSi & DSi XL, the supported firmware versions are: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.4.1,1.4.2 & 1.4.3.

For 3DS, the supported firmware version are : 1.1.0-1, 2.0.0-2, 2.1.0-3, 2.1.0-4, 2.2.0-4, 3.0.0-5 & 3.0.0-6

Preparation (Checklist Before Installation)

Hardware

1 x DS / DS Lite / DSi / DSi XL / 3DS

  • A 3DS console with firmware lower than 2.2.0-4 (2.2.0-4E, 2.2.0-4J, 2.2.0-4U & 2.2.0-4A)
  • A DSi console with firmware lower than 1.4.3 (1.4.3E, 1.4.3J, 1.4.3U & 1.4.3A)
  • If you don’t have a DSi with firmware lower than 1.4.3, you have to use a DS Lite console.

1 x Acekard 2i Card
1 x USB Reader
1 x Micro SD/SDHC Memory Card

Format a Micro SD/SDHC Card

Using Windows XP/Vista/7 Format Tool

After inserting the Micro SD/SDHC into the card reader, go to My Computer.
    b)  Right click the driver representing the Micro SD/SDHC memory card.
    c)  Choose Format

 

d)  Click Start to format the memory card in FAT32

Using Panasonic Memory Card Format Software

Note:
If your memory cards have capacity bigger than 32GB, please download the SD/SDHC/SDXC Memory Cards Format Software.
If your memory cards have capacity equal or smaller than 32GB, please download the SD/SDHC Memory Cards Format Software.

  1. Insert SD/SDHC Memory Card into reader/writer.
  2. Click on [Start], point to [All Programs] -> [Panasonic] -> [SD Formatter VX.X], and click on [SD Formatter VX.X].
    * “X.X” means the version number of SD Memory Card Formatting Software. 
    * If “User Account Control” window is displayed on the screen, please click on [Arrow].
  3. The main window is displayed on the screen.
  4. Select the target drive by drive list and check SD/SDHC Memory Card size.
  5. Click on [Format].
  6. After clicking on it, confirmation window is displayed on the screen. Here, if [OK] is clicked, this software executes the format operation. On the contrary, if [Cancel] is clicked, this software cancels the format operation and returns to the main window.
  7. The following status window is displayed on the screen during the format operation.
    Note: [Cancel] on this window is available only if either “FULL (Erase ON)” or “FULL (Erase OFF)” is selected as format type option. If “QUICK” is selected as format type option, this button is not available.
  8. After the format operation completion, click [OK] and remove the Memory Card from your PC.
  9. Reinsert the memory card to the PC to start using the memory card.

Using Mac Memory Card Format Tool

  1. Plug your memory card reader into a USB port on your Mac. Insert the Micro SD / MicroSDHC card into the memory card reader's MicroSD / MicroSDHC slot, and the MicroSD / MicroSDHC card will mount on your Mac desktop.
  2. In an open Finder window, single-click "Applications" in the Side-Bar and scroll down to find the Utilities folder. Find Disk Utility in the Utilities folder and double-click the "Disk Utility" application to launch it.
  3. In the opened Disk Utility application, single-click to select the MicroSD / MicroSDHC card in the left-hand Drives column. Then, single-click to select the "Erase" button in the top row of radio buttons. Select the format MS-DOS (FAT) to format the MicroSD / MicroSDHC card on the "Volume Format" pop-up button.  When you have finished selecting the formatting options, click "Erase."
  4. A new dialogue box will pop up in "Disk Utility," asking if you are sure you wish to erase the MicroSD / MicroSDHC card. Caution: Erasing the MicroSD / MicroSDHC card will permanently erase any files. Make sure you have backed up any file you wish to keep. To continue with the formatting process, click "Erase."
  5. Once the MicroSD / MicroSDHC card has been erased, it will mount on your Mac desktop just as any other removable drive.

Acekard 2i Firmware Fix For 3DS v3.0.0-6 & DSi / DSi XL v1.4.3

 

Kind reminder: 

When upgrading the Acekard 2i 3DS card, it is not allowed to turn off power or pull out the card; otherwise the card will be damaged.
Prepare a DS Lite. If you do not have a DS Lite, try to get hold of another DSi or 3DS which does not block your Acekard 2i 3DS card.

Follow the steps below to carry out the update:

1. Plug your DS console to the wall to make sure that the DS console power supply will not be interrupted during the firmware upgrade process.

2. Download the official driver (AKAIO.1.8.9 ) and firmware (ak2ifw_update_3ds3.0_DSi 143).

3. Unzip the files downloaded (using Winrar) on your PC.

  • Winrar can be downloaded from www.download.com by searching for Winrar at the Search.
  • Unzip the files mentioned under the Software Preparation above, you will get:

4. Simply drag the eight unzipped files onto the root of the micro SD / SDHC card after you have format the SD / SDHC card.

5.Plug in the Micro SD/SDHC to the Acekard 2i and insert the Acekard 2i to the DS Lite console.

6. Select the Micro SD/SDHC Card icon on the main operating system

7. Press button A to select the firmware file.

  • For DSi (XL) : ak2ifw_update_3ds30_DSi143_onDSi_and_DSXL_and3DS.nds
  • For DS Lite   : ak2ifw_update_3ds30_DSi143_onDSL.nds

8. When you see the following, please follow the instruction to eject the card and insert it again. Then press B to continue.

9. You will be prompted if you want to update the firmware as follows:

10. Press Start button on the DS to continue.

11. The following screen shows that the update is 55% done.

12. The following screen shows that the update has been completed. Congratulation! Restart your DS now.

13. The Acekard icon on the main menu has been changed to the following icon. The icon means you have upgraded the Acekard 2i firmware successfully.

Acekard 2i Driver Setup Guide

  1. Unzip the file downloaded (using Winrar) on your PC
    1. Winrar can be downloaded from www.download.com by searching for Winrar at the Search.
    2. Unzip the files mentioned under the Software Preparation above, you will get:

  2. Now copy the all the above four files to the root folder of the Micro SD/SDHC memory card.
     
  3. Copy your own files, including music, movies, pictures and other data to the Micro SD/SDHC memory card.
     
  4. Plug in the Micro SD/SDHC to the Acekard 2i. Insert the Acekard 2i with the microSD into the slot 1 of the DS console. Turn on the DS console.
     
  5. You will see the WARNING – HEALTH AND SAFETY message. Please touch the touch screen or press button A to continue.

     
  6. For DSi or DSi XL, you will the following icon with words ALEX RIDER STORMBREAKER THQ. Please touch the icon or press button A to continue.

     
  7. Wait for the Acekard 2i to load.

     
  8. You will see the Acekard 2i main menu. Touch the microSD Card icon or Press button A to continue.

     
  9. Congratulation if you have come this far as you have successfully set up your iPlayer. There you go. Enjoy your DS with the multimedia functions.
