When is the DSi released?
The Nintendo DSi is released on the 3rd of April 2009 in the UK.
Can I use my current N5, M3, R4, DSTT, EDGE, Acekard, EZ Flash, Supercard or iTouch on the DSi?
No. The original versions of the above flash cards, R4 Version 2, R4 Version 3, N5, M3 Real, EDGE, DSTT, Acekard 2, EZ Flash, Supercard and iTouch are not compatible with DSi. However, the upgrades of the cards do support DSi. Currently, the following cards support the DSi: R4i, DSTTi, EZ Flash Vi, and Acekard 2i. We have all of them in stock and ready for shipping.
Can I play my DS / DS Lite games on the new DSi?
The DSi is downward compatible with the DS / DSL DS games except games that require peripherals which use the GBA slot (e.g. Guitar Hero).
Can I play very old GBA games on my DSi?
Unfortunately not, the Gameboy Advance slot has been removed in the DSi.
What colours will the DSi be available in?
DSi are only available in matte black or matte white in the EU. In Japan, DSi are also available in pink, blue and green. We are in the process of stocking some new DSi skins. Please stay tuned.
How much more advanced and powerful is DSi as compared to DS Lite?
DSi has bigger screens. It comes equipped with a small camera to take pictures. It can play music files. It can store all that content on an SD memory card. But most importantly, it's fully equipped for the digital distribution revolution. Just as Nintendo sells Wii games through its own direct-download store, so too will it begin selling Nintendo DS titles directly to consumers.
Can I upgrade my DS to the DSi firmware?
No. the DSi is the first Nintendo handheld to have a flashable firmware, previous models don’t support this.
